To Expose young African American men to Positive adult models. 2. To emphasize the importance of academic, emotional and spiritual growth as it relates to young African American men. 3. To help young African American men realize that personal and career goals are attainable through academic preparation, resisting substance abuse and avoiding criminal activities. 4. To help them realize their potential, instill hope and pride, and convey that they are accountable for their own actions Purpose As African American men, we realize that our "Young Lions" are in crisis. They are often surrounded by negative images that impact their behavior and decision making skills. It is up to positive African American adults to provide them with alternatives to drugs, violence and ignorance. We affirm that we achieve our mission through mentoring our "Young Lions" with love, compassion and understanding. |
